Updates- First Full Week

CLASS UPDATES

* Prepare yourself and your child that Monday morning may be a little hectic and overwhelming.  If you plan to walk your child in (and that it TOTALLY fine), please make the drop off process quick.  The quicker the transition the less time for the child has to become upset. We are going to try to go right into our morning routine.
I AM BIG ON ROUTINES!!!!
*Our Morning Routine:  Come into classroom, hang up backpack and place lunchbox on shelf, bring Mrs. Pendleton your folder from backpack, check in on SMART board by moving nametag to appropriate spot, take a bathroom break quietly, and have a seat at your table (there will be an activity waiting for you, probably pattern block puzzles).
*Expect some tears the first few weeks.  This adjustment time is hard for the children.  It's a lot to ask of 4,5, and 6-year-olds.  It's OK if they cry.  I'm sure I will be experiencing some from my own kindergartener.  Just rest assured that they normally stop within a few minutes and join the activities and fun.  When they are tired it is harder for them to seperate from you and begin their day.  If I have any concerns, I promise to let you know.
* PLEASE BE SURE THAT I KNOW WHAT YOUR CHILD IS DOING AT THE END OF THE DAY.  BUS OR CAR RIDER?  You can place a note in their folder and I will find it first thing that morning.  With one of me and 19 kids, it is safest to write EVERYTHING down.  I post it by the door so that I will not forget.
