We are the Lorax, we speak for the trees!

Our class loved the story "The Lorax," by Dr. Seuss. They loved learning about the significance of the story and how important it is to take care of our planet. As part of our lesson, we made Lorax mustaches and snacked on truffula trees- yummy!
We "mustache" you to help take care of our planet!

MARCH= fun times with Dr. Seuss rhymes

We have been reading Dr. Seuss books and enjoying fun activities centered on his stories. Here is today's adventure- crazy sock day!  We read "Fox in Socks", completed the graph about wearing crazy socks, designed a crazy sock, brainstormed rhyming words, and tallied, counted, and graphed the different kinds of socks.
We participated a taste testing activity after reading "Green Eggs and Ham."  Mrs. Arnold fixed real green eggs and ham. I was thrilled with the amount of kids who tried them and liked them (just like Sam). Before reading the story, each student predicted whether or not they would like this snack. After tasting it, they completed a class graph. We also labeled Sam, the main character from our story.
Of course we celebrated Wednesday with "Wacky Wednesday."  This story talked about all the wacky things that happened on one Wednesday. We dressed wacky for the day!  We also completed an anchor chart by brainstorming all the wacky things that happened in the story.
We have noticed that Dr. Seuss really liked rhyming words.  Today we talked about words families that were in some of our stories and completed an anchor chart.
